"The Cowgirl That Sings"
About Rene Sims, in her own words:
My name being Irish and not French seems to be hard to pronounce for many. It's simply like Irene without the I.
Born and raised in Jackson, Tennessee, my family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1973 where I have spent the better part of my life.
I learned to play the guitar at the age of 16, and began preforming in local theater and at 18 in clubs and restaurants in Fort Worth metroplex area.
I lived 4 years in North Hollywood, California and 10 years in DeRidder, Louisiana where I owned and operated a horse boarding and training facility. I was a competition Show Horse rider of Arabian horses and Thoroughbreds in 3 different disciplines. English Pleasure, Western Pleasure and Dressage, as well as a riding instructor.
Over 20 years into the horse business, I continued to write many songs and record. I recorded, wrote all the songs, preformed and produced my Cd "It's About Time" in 2003. It was recorded at Patriot Recording Studio in Burleson, Texas with the great Chris Booher from "Asleep At The Wheel."
You can find my music for sale at many on line stores. I have a new compilation Cd now being listed on amazon.com ,Itunes ,Napster, Rapsody, called "The Best of Rene Sims". I am a member of The Fort Worth Songwriters Association, a member of ASCAP and also have ASCAP Publishing as Just Rene Publishing. I have over 75 songs registered with the Library of Congress.

Here is a translation of a review in a Swiss country music newsletter:
"Award winning Training Rider, Songwriter, Band leader, and a member of the Texas Music Association, since 1974 with countless events appeared - Rene (pronounced: Reen) Sims. We can hardly believe that Rene is more than 30 years in the business and plays, nevertheless, only since her 16-th year, the guitar. The lady looks substantially younger still her present career successful. "Music comes from the heart and the soul", it brings Rene easiest of all. Recently her album "It's About Time", songs from deep down, all as to the life taken, without klischees not to put under Country, Blues or other catagories, but simply and movingly Texas Music. Her love to the Lonestar State becomes clear over and over again, "Frosty Mornin' in Texas" is such a proof; just as "Trick-A-Lin of Rain". But Rene not always was in Texas. She followed a Love to Louisiana, stayed there, received Success with riding academy in DeRidder. The song "Louisiana" tells the story. Nevertheless, she has moved back again in her beloved state where she is often invited by numerous songwriters, events, and festivals."
Rene and J.C. High Eagle (also heard here on EMM Radio and will be 'featured' in August) are teaming up and merging their talents to put on a complete show. They will be showcasing their songwriting abilities as well as thier vocal talents putting together some great classic music for tours and performances at various venues in the U.S. plus international.
