Born in the small town of Morgantown West Virginia, Katy began her formal training in dance and music at the age of 3. It wasn’t long after that she began playing the piano, guitar, harmonica, and recorder. Since then Katy has performed in countless musicals, local bands, concerts, and eventually made her way to Nashville in 2002 by way of Clearwater, Florida. Within months she landed a publishing deal with EMI. She spent the next year writing every day and performing at songwriter nights and clubs around town.
In December 2003, Katy released the first single off her debut CD, Kaleidoscope. Her first release, My Song co-written with Jon Goodwin received critical acclaim from Country Music radio. Two additional releases; Little Man, and Rush also charted on Country Music charts in addition to being commissioned for several independent film projects. After a two-year radio tour promoting her CD, Katy took time off from her schedule to work on her writing skills and prepare for her next project. Her latest CD due out late summer 2007, is being produced by Grammy nominated engineer/producer Jim Lightman.
With many great performances to her credit, Katy has opened for acts such as Jason Aldean, Kevin Sharp, and T.Graham Brown. Whether singing for a crowd of 75,000 at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida, or down on Broadway, Katy sings with sheer passion that lives within her soul and her undeniable love of entertaining.
